North Star Works has been busy.
We have things to share and report.
First, the transition for ACBMaine is largely complete. The website is up and working and looks fantasitic. ACBMaine has chosen a somewhat different approach by using the "Shining Star" option - meaning that this is a fully independent site managed by North Star Works. Additionally, we have been able to transfer all the newsletters developed previously. And ACBMaine utilizes the contact management options offered by North Star Works.
Second, we have tested and fully implemented The Exchange. It is currently used by two groups and has been working flawlessly. The Exchange was used to handle membership and conference registration by ACBMaine. Additionally, ACBMaine has paid its subscription and web expenses through The Exchange. It's so nice when things work well.
Third, the folks at the Statewide Independent Living Council - (SILC) have been very busy developing a resource bank for individuals with disabilities. This is an excellent resource and contains information in a variety of areas. It can be found at SILC Resources. This is well worth a look.
Fourth, I am in the middle of preparing another web site to assist the blind and visually impaired. The site, Pegasus, is still in development. It contains resources for national, state, and county connections to help anyone find information about towns, libraries, physicians, support, mobility, and transportation - all the issues faced daily by the blind community.
